The Kentucky State Police and McCreary County Sheriff's Department are searching for a suspect involved in a friday afternoon robbery/ home invasion in Marshes Siding.

Officers on the look out for a dark complected male, between 19-20 years of age, between 5'2" and 5'4" in height and with a slender build. The suspect is driving a two-tone (blue/tan) large SUV with Tennessee tags, The suspect may have an injury to his hand.

 The suspect allegedly was discovered attempting to break into a home by the owner, and got into an altercation as he attempted to flee. The victim was stabbed, but escaped serious injury. She managed to provide the officers with the above description.

 Anyone with information to the possible location or identity of the suspect is asked to call the KSP at 606-878-6622, the McCreary County Sheriff's Department at 606-376-2322 or McCreary County Dispatch 911.

 Detective Billy Correll is in charge of the investigation.

No saturday School

The McCreary County Board of Education voted to not hold Saturday classes in a special-called meeting Tuesday night. The decision means that the last day of classes in McCreary County will be June 24th.
