The six young adults arrested recently after a Kentucky State Police Trooper discovered an active meth lab were indicted on felony drug charges Monday.
Donnie R. Barnett, Josh R. Phillips, Billy R. Stephens, Jamie H. Lynch, Garra D. Kidd, and Amanda Morgan are each facing a count of manufacturing methamphetamine in relation to the November 8 incident.
On that evening, Trooper Tony Dingess and Deputy Jerry Meadows were in the Dixie area on a call, when Dingess noticed a strong chemical smell near the School Bus Garage on Hwy. 1651. Dingess initiated an investigation at a residence located just north of the garage, where he believed the odor to be emanating.
Dingess located Stephens, Jr. burning debris in the rear of the residence while Meadows knocked on the front door. An individual opened the door, but then fled. Meadows and Dingess entered the residence in pursuit and located four other individuals alledgely in the process of operating an active meth lab.
Kidd, 21; Morgan, 23; Lynch, 20; Stephens Jr., 25; Phillips, 25; and Barnett, 32, were all arrested at the scene and charged.

In connection with the indictment, Barnett, Phillips and Stephens Jr have also been indicted on charges of being persistent felony offenders. Morgan was indicted on a charge of possession of drug paraphernalia after officers allegedly found her in possession of a syringe. Kidd also faces another charge in the case, tampering with physical evidence, due to her tearing up a “paper list of cooking items” used in the process of manufacturing methamphetamine.
Trooper Dingess took the case to the grand jury and obtained the indictment.

Other indictments include:

• Joni Helton, of Pine Knot, faces a charge of first-degree possession of a controlled substance (Oxycodone) and first-degree promoting contraband.
• Ketchie C. Sears, of Corbin, was indicted on a charge of operating a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol (Fourth offense DUI), in relation to a October 31 incident.

• Delbert Rollins and Waymond Perry, both of Parkers Lake, were named in Monday’s indictments with each facing a charge of second-degree burglary and theft by unlawful taking over $500. Perry has also been charged with being a persistent felony offender.
• Jacqueline A. Bailey, of Pine Knot, is facing a charge of first-degree possession of a controlled substance.
• Lavonnia Marlow, Brittany Marlow and Tony N. Swords, all of Williamsburg, face a charge of cultivating marijuana over 5 plants after being found, allegedly, growing 154 plants on May 1.
• Daniel Crabtree and April Crabtree, both of Revelo, were jointly named in an indictment Monday. The pair were each charged with a count of making a false statement of identity in order to obtain a credit card and third-degree criminal possession of a forged instrument. Daniel Crabtree was also charged with being a persistent felony offender.
The Voice would like to remind our readers that an indictment is not an indication of one’s guilt or innocence in a matter, but merely represents enough evidence exists to pursue a case further in a court of law.
