A McCreary County mother faces charges of child endangerment and falsely reporting an incident after allegedly claiming her child was abducted from her home in the middle of the night.
According to the complaint filed by Kentucky State Police Detective Billy Correll, on April 28, Addrina Parriman, 20, reported that her six-month-old infant was abducted from her home by two armed men. The report stated that Parriman was awakened around 2 a.m. and found a man with a gun outside the living room window. The man ordered her to move the child’s crib away from the window, then he and another man climbed through the window into the room. The men allegedly secured the young mother’s arms and legs with duct tape, then took the child. She managed to grab a cell phone and contacted relatives who rushed to the house and notified authorities. Detective Correll, KSP Trooper Tony Dingus, McCreary County Sheriff Gus Skinner with K9 Officer Rex and Deputy Joe Horne arrived at the scene and began a search for the missing infant. After about an hour, the child was found safely wrapped in a blanket in the back seat of Parriman’s car. Temperatures ranged from between 41 to 32 degrees that evening. As Detective Correll continued the investigation, Parriman reportedly recanted her original story on May 3, finally admitting to making it up. She was arrested and charged with Falsely Reporting an Incident and Endangering the Welfare of a Child. The child was turned over to the care of family members, pending the outcome of the case. |
